Anyone trap during the early season?

I used dog proof for most if the coons. I have a live trap in the barn, trying to catch tom cats. One leg hold in the chicken house after 1 dead hen. Total so far; 6 coons, 5 opossums, 2 skunks and 1 groundhog. One possum, one skunk and one groundhog from the leg hold. 0 tom cats. All are pulled and waiting for Nov 15th.

I made pretty good money trapping back in the ‘70s. I haven’t trapped in years but still enjoy reading about it. It’s a real shame that the fur market is so depressed.

I am solely doing it for control. I have put a lot of work into my farm, timber stand improvement, edge weathering, brush piles and then predator control. I have a tremendous amount of turkeys and deer. I honestly believe the work is helping.
