What's the best red dot setup?

For those of you who use a red dot sight on your serious firearms, what optic size and mounting height have you come to trust? Are you aligning it with your iron sights, keeping it lower, or not using irons at all? I'd love to hear about your firearm model, the optic you chose, your mounting setup, and how you’ve arranged your irons so we can see what setups are effective.

I currently have a Burris FF3, set up for full cowitness. I have taken the backup sights off and am trying to decide on another arrangement. The gun is an AR15 pistol with a 14” barrel chambered in .277 Wolverine. Previously I had a Trijicon MRO with a lower third cowitness mount. At some point I’ll probably SBR this one and probably go with an 8.5” .300 Blackout barrel and tuck a Banish 30 into a 15” hand guard. Because of vision issues I’ll probably also switch to a green dot.
