What's your favorite shooting range to visit? I'm interested in what you like about it—friendly staff, good setup, or simply the vibe.

For traditional Muzzleloading, I like the social aspects of the Gemmer Muzzleloading Gun Club. We have our own range near Pacific, MO.

Arnold Rifle and Pistol has out to 400. If you want longer it would have to be at Benchrest I believe.

I'm looking for a long range facility for rifle shooting in the St. Louis area. Talking Sharps, M1 Garand.
Bull's Eye Gun Club's range goes out to 400 yards, but you've got to be a member, or at least be accompanied by one. Their range is located fairly near to Washington State Park.

Holister in Kansas. State-owned but run by a club. $30 a year for a family. It includes free targets, eye protection and ear protection. Near Fort Scott. Just wish they were open more hours.

Pioneer Gun Club in Johnson county, has a range for about anything you would want to do.
I have been there as a guest of a member, who offered to recommend me. One of the requirements is NRA membership, I am watching to see if they have reformed things enough to be trusted with my money. If so, I will join NRA and Pioneer.

I was with you on that one but glad I joined. I think with that requirement for them, they come out way ahead with grant moneys for projects at the club.
