Nitride vs Cerakote

When it comes to choosing the best finish for a high-round-count pistol, should you go with Cerakote coating or nitride treatment?

I think there are pros and cons to both finishes but all else being equal, I think nitride will far outlast Cerakote.

I’m all about nitride finishes. I don’t care if my pistol looks pretty, I just want it to hold up after thousands of rounds without needing constant attention.
