I first came across Montana Knife Company when I was listening to an episode of the Dave Ramsey EntreLeadership podcast featuring their founder, Josh Smith. He spoke about his commitment to producing high-quality, American-made knives, and it really caught my attention.

The knives seem well-made and sturdy, but I'm curious if anyone here has actually tried one out. How do they perform in practical settings? Any feedback would be appreciated.

Just looking them up on line, their stuff looks good, and I would expect it is very good quality, but they sre pretty proud of it. Way beyond my budget.

I'm sort of a knife slob, a great knife is worth paying for in my opinion.

Montana Knife Company has a model I would love to try but when you spend months waiting for them to make a run and then they make a small handful and "drop" them (I despise that term by the way) and they are gone in minutes I'm moving on.
I guess their business model is to produce only what they can sell in an hour and bombard your in box with emails telling you how great their product is and how you should jump through hoops to get it.

I wouldn't mind waiting for a knife as long as I had a reasonable expectation of actually getting it. Something like "Hey Josh, this is Bob, I want to order a Speed Goat. Here's my credit card information, please let me know when it ships " .

There are literally dozens of custom knife makers that will take a call like that. You might have to wait a few months to a couple of years to get the knife but you will get it.

Sorry for the rant but I refuse to sit on some social media site and wait for hours to push the "buy it now" button to get a high end production knife.
