Fishing techniques in Missouri

Been fishing for many years in Missouri, and tried almost every fishing technique haha. Still, I like the Light Tackle a lot, Spinning, and Heavy Tackle. Is anyone else the same?

About 40 years ago I cleaned up all my fishing gear and put it away. Told myself that I can't use it until I learn to fly fish, guess I'll never use it again. Joined Mid-Missouri Trout Unlimited and have never looked back.

Same here, been at it for years and tried about everything.

When I take my kids out, light spinning tackle keeps it fun because even a small crappie bends the rod. But when I'm after big flatheads, nothing beats heavy tackle and a live bluegill on the hook.

Two different worlds but both get me hooked.

I mostly fish for trout anymore, and I use an ultralight spinning rod for that. I also enjoy grabbing suckers occasionally and use appropriate tackle. Any creek or river fishing is generally ultralight gear also.

I mostly do the drop-shot rigs with plastic worms for bass in clear rivers like the Current. And sometimes the ultralight spinning with 4-pound.
