CCW Question - St. Louis City

The family will be making a trip to the St. Louis Area. I'm wondering if the various attractions in the city (e.g., museums and the like) allow concealed carry, or if they all mostly prohibit CCW holders to carry. I see one site says, "Weapons are not permitted in the [building]," which only raises the question: Do they have metal detectors to stop everyone? Or, are they only barring CCW holders by that notice, while allowing criminals (who will ignore that notice) to bring weapons into their facility?

I'm guessing I will not carry into any building, but I was wondering if anyone had any experience in the city in this regard.

The only place I have ever been checked was getting on the grounds of the VP Fair. They did have metal detectors. If you go to a Cardinal game you cannot bring in a knife with a certain length blade, and they will check purses.

Other thn that I have never been checked, or asked.

I didn't carry. Turns out, there were no metal detectors and no other attempts to check for guns, so I could have carried if I'd wanted to do so. I try to stay out of the city as much as possible, so hopefully this will be a rare issue for me.

Me too. I try to stay out of the city as much as possible.

Went to a birthday party at Incredible Pizza last weekend....metal detectors (2) and pocket/purse checks. Lucky they had plastic knives available!

I despise St. Louis and I will not go there unless I absolutely have to. When I do go, I'm armed to the teeth and if there's a sign that prohibits weapons I don't patronize.

Interesting. Never been there, but looks like a Chuckie Cheese type of place...and I know there have been some famous incidents of rowdy crowds and parental fights at Chuckie Cheese restaurants.

I got into a conversation with the security guard about firearms in general...just chatting. I told him I had been going there at least once a year for birthday parties for several years and was surprised to see the level of security now, that had not been there in the past. He did not share any details as to the 'why', but did say that of all the locations, only two had detectors and searches and that Nashville, TN was far worse than St. Louis as to 'incidents'.
My SIL said he saw a number of people that had to go back out to their vehicle to put away a 'banned item'. He personally had to take a 'work knife' that he always has on his person back to his car.
BTW, the place, while similar to Chuckee's, has a broader food selection (edible!) including pizza and hot food buffet, salad bar and deserts. And a lot of games with 'reward tickets'. Not cheap, but kids enjoy it and they have a pretty good turnout.

P.S. In addition to the security screening, they also have a very strict dress code regarding no underware showing and pants must be at waist level. Beyond that, you see some pretty wierd attire and hair colors, piercings, ink, the full gamutt of today's 'fashion'!

Interesting development. The wife and I had lunch today with our daughter and the grandaughter that had the Incredible Pizza birthday party. Daughter said her husband (SIL?) just told her this AM that Incredible Pizza has announced they are closing down. That leaves none near St. Louis. I guess they finally said ENOUGH! Sad for the kids that so much enjoyment there.

Update. We went to the Muny Opera in Forest Park last night. They will check for concealed firearms before you can get into the seating area. You walk through a metal detector. They check all bags you are carrying, and they did check me with a wand after checking my bags. I was carrying a pocket knife which nobody questioned.

Wonder what the Muny is doing in the parking lot to prevent car window smashing break ins. Did they have security checking admission tickets to make sure all entering the parking lot were performace attendees?
