I'm a newcomer from St. Louis. I've been into firearms for quite a few years now starting with some basic range shooting. I got my CCW permit around 5 years ago, and I carry regularly while taking my training seriously. Thanks for welcoming me!

Re having your CCW, the really nice side benefit is the new in 2025 "slam-bam-thank-you-mam" quick gun transfers....no NICS call....done as fast, out the door, as I can fill out the 4473.

One note, apparently not all FFL dealers are compliant to be able to do this CCW quickie transfer. Not familiar with the dealer requirement details specifics. Note: Gateway Gun Club in Hazelwood 63044 on Missouri Bottom Rd is set up for this...where I do my transfers....$10 for members; $20 non-members. Most sites have their FFL license already making ship to easy selection at purchase checkout...GunBroker, Palmetto State Armory, Bear Creek Arsenal, GrabAGun, Brownells, MidWayUSA, many others.

Didn't know about this as well. Appreciate this.

A follow up re CCW NICS avoidance. I checked with Gateway during last transfer. They do not have to do anything special, do not have to seek AFT approval to begin doing this, do not have to have special equipment or procedures/approval to offer this feature. In fact, Gateway, and thus assuming all MO FFLs, had received a letter from ATF acknowledging that as of May 2025 it was confirmed that the Missouri CCW check and issuance procedures met the ATF requirements for this short cut. So, all of your FFLs should be doing this CCW and Drivers License avoidance of the NICS check for transfers. This procedure allows transfers as fast as one can complete the standard 4473. No longer waiting on jammed up sluggish NICS system. Plug for Gateway Gun Club, Jerry handles the transfers, Tommy is the owner. Both great people. Use them whenever you can for transfers and for skeet/trap indoor range.
