My friend and I were enjoying cigars and whiskey around the table yesterday as he was telling me how he always wanted a 1911. A couple of neats later and I showed him the low end Tisas Service Special I had just bought. We field stripped a couple of times to show him the workings. Wide eyed and more neats later he decided to order a Tisas on line. I then showed him my Ruger LWCDR and more neats later he marveled how wonderfully light it is. Next getting the scale out he started weighing things and another neat down, looking on the webbernet, he found a full size Ruger light weight 1911 and marveled on the low Black Friday price and said why not?
So now he has 2 1911s coming. We ordered 1k fmj practice rounds at a good price and found some great grips to top it all off. I may have had a hand in creating another Addict...

You didn’t just turn someone into an addict, you’ve found a lifelong companion. Now let’s get those matching holsters and a shared ammo stash ready. You know it’s just around the corner!

This is how it all unfolds… one cigar, one drink, and suddenly, FedEx is part of the gang  Jokes aside, that’s a pretty solid way to get into the 1911 world. Tisas guns have been a great “gateway” pistol for many people lately, and the Ruger LW models often catch folks by surprise the first time they hold one. It’s hard not to appreciate them once you feel the difference in weight. And don’t worry… if you’ve created a new fan, at least you did it the right way.

When those boxes start arriving, make sure to welcome him to the forum. We’ll help him know who to thank!

LOL, then he found a Kimber Micro 9 at Academy and ordered online..
I remembered I have another friend who I havent heard from in a while who has a Kimber Micro 9 and asked him if he likes it. He said he cant shoot it without it jamming and he bought a Sig and is happy with it. Asked what he wants for the Kimber and he said he would like a 22 that he could shoot all day for a few dollars. I produced a Single Six and he really liked it so the Kimber followed me home. I researched and bought a bunch of 124 gr 9mm to break it in and in the first 200 rounds it hassent had a single jam. A few hundred more and it will go to EDC status.
