What was your first handgun? I can still picture mine, and even though it's been years, I still have it! Do you still own yours, or did you part ways? I'd love to hear your stories about it!
Cimarron No3 Schofield in 45 colt. Yes I still have it. It was a gift from my dad some years for Christmas. He didn't have it in hand yet so he wrapped up a box of 45lc. With us not having had a 45 till then I immediately knew what was coming next. It's not as much of a pointer as my 51 navy is but it's a great piece and I'm forever grateful for it.
Glock 19 [Gen 1, I guess]. Bought it in the early 90's. Still shoots like a charm. I don't think I've ever had a misfire. I will never sell it. One of my kids will inherit it.
Glocks can be controversial, I know. I understand their drawbacks, but what can I say?...those drawbacks don't bother me. I shoot well with it.
An old RG Saturday night special. Bought it from a mentally handicapped guy because
I thought he should not have it. In my gun case now. Horrible to shoot with.
My first was a Colt New Frontier .22/.22mag convertible, I'm not sure when I got it but it was before I had a driver's license, I lost it in a fire in early 1981. The first one I actually bought was on my 21st. Birthday in 1979 and the next was the same day, a Colt Combat Commander in satin stainless and the next one was a TC Contender with a 10" octagon .30/30 barrel and a .44 magnum Hotshot barrel. I ordered a .22 Hornet barrel soon after. I no longer have any of them but I did kill my first handgun deer with the .30/30 a couple of weeks after I bought it.
After I got out of the Corps, I bought a Walther P99 Gen 1, Green in 40S&W...Still have it though there have been many pistols bought and sold since...
Mine was a Ruger Blackhawk 357 I got for my 16th birthday, sold it to my highschool teacher and bought a Ruger Redhawk 44. Sure wish you could still buy and sell guns at school with no headaches.
